Senior Superintendent
Overview
As a Senior Superintendent, Jim is responsible for all operations performed at the site level, including quality control, phasing, communication, and safety. Jim communicates directly with the project team comprised of architects, subcontractors, and the owner, to ensure adherence to the project documents. Jim maintains an excellent relationship with subcontractors and works closely with them to maintain the project schedule, problem solve, and deliver projects of the highest quality.
Since joining ReArch Company in 2006, Jim has served as Superintendent on a variety of projects including the corporate headquarters fit-up for Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, the fast-track LEED certified Community Health Center of Burlington, Keurig Green Mountain’s corporate data center, and the historic preservation and redevelopment of Monadnock Mills in Claremont, New Hampshire.
Experience
Prior to joining ReArch, Jim was employed for more than 23 years by Breadloaf Construction in Middlebury, Vermont. Hired there as a laborer, Jim devoted himself to growing with the company, took more than 300 hours of ongoing education courses, and ultimately obtained the title of Site Superintendent. As a Superintendent, Jim worked on a $15mm Fort Ticonderoga renovation project, which took place below this historic site and included the addition of a new facility. Jim also worked on several institutional construction projects, including Landmark College and Middlebury College.
Education
Jim is certified as a Construction Supervisor by the Associated General Contractors of America. He has completed a 30-hour OSHA Certification and a 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations & Emergency Response Certification. Jim is also Red Cross First Aid & CPR Certified.
Background
Jim and his wife, Betty, reside in Monkton on a hobby farm. In addition to his love of farming, Jim spends time mastering the craft of small batch maple syrup and apple cider production.
