Project Description:
ReArch Company served as the Construction Manager for this high-profile project which included municipal redevelopment, restoration, commercial construction, and historic preservation.
A former textile mill nestled along the Sugar River in Claremont, NH, this 62,184 sf building was crumbling from decades of neglect. ReArch’s first priority was to oversee the restoration of the structure which included ledge removal inside of the existing space to make the building safe for construction.
Once the building was secure, a complete rebuild of the interior was undertaken. Extra precautions and procedures were in place to mitigate the unpredictable conditions and decaying materials. Floors that were previously braced with 2×4 were shored up and classic stairwells were restored to their full glory.
The tenant fit up of Red River Computer Company and the Common Man Inn & Restaurant were completed simultaneously within the mill buildings. Careful consideration was given to bringing together this building’s historic style and the modern necessities of a high-tech company.
The project was a huge success and has won multiple awards including a New Hampshire AIA Merit Award, a Plan NH Merit Award, and a Preservation Achievement Award from the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance.
