Project Description:
The Vermont Foodbank added a 5000 SF walk-in Freezer/Cooler to their Barre headquarters, the first milestone in a significant building renovation that is still underway. This addition consisted of a 2,950 SF freezer and a 2,050 SF cooler, cooled with a new CO2 Refrigeration System to keep perishable food donations chilled before they are distributed to food shelves across the state. The Freezer Cooler addition includes automatic sliding doors, radiant floor heat, a new heat recovery loop and expanded sprinkler coverage utilizing a dual interlock pre-action system.
Additionally, on the exterior of the building our team expanded the parking area and supplemented the exterior lighting. This is an important step towards helping the Vermont Foodbank provide more fresh food to people in Vermont facing hunger.
