ReArch Company completed construction on the $12.5 million James and Mary Louise Carpenter Surgical Center located at Copley Hospital in Morrisvelle, Vermont. This continually occupied project accounts for twenty percent of the hospital’s space and included both exterior and interior phases of work. Throughout the project ReArch Company’s focus was on ensuring the safety and continuity of care for hospital patients. The end result is a state of the art surgical facility.
ReArch Company was selected to construct a $12M, 19,560 SF surgical suite to replace its existing aging, small, and out-of-date surgical suite. The project includes 3 Operating Rooms, 1 Procedure Room, Central sterile and processing, 12 pre-operative / post-operative beds, new lockers and educational / break area, renovated infusion suite. The Project will also include the renovation of the Infusion/Oncology suite and the renovation of the existing OR space on the 2nd floor of the hospital. All new Stryker medical equipment throughout.
The most important aspect of this addition and renovation project at Copley Hospital was to maintain the highest level of patient care and safety. Special care was taken to ensure proper protection was in place to shield construction actives from daily hospital operations. Our entire team at ReArch is trained in Infection Control Risk Assessments (ICRA) and Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM). Our ICRA knowledge allowed us to identify risks and mitigate them with measures that include properly constructed barriers for dust containment, management of negative air flow to contain construction dust and debris, and indoor air quality monitoring. Life safety was also a major focus for our team while completing this project. Keeping patients as well as staff safe during construction requires attention to detail with respect to life safety measures including exit signs, egress pathways, fire protection & alarm systems, and emergency evacuation planning.
